Jul 29, 2026 09:23AM ● By Elise Renaud

If you’re looking for a fun and close-by day trip this fall, look no further than the Flume Gorge in New Hampshire.

The gorge is a self-guided 2-mile walk. The New Hampshire Division of Parks and Recreation estimates that it will take about an hour and a half to complete.

“The trail is mostly packed gravel with boardwalk sections and includes moderate uphill walking and stairs within the gorge. Appropriate footwear is recommended,” the parks division said on its website.

Tickets are $18 for online reservation for those 13 and older with the price jumping to $21 at the ticket window, for kids ages 6 to 12, the price is $16 if booked online or $19 at the ticket window. Guests 5 and younger are free.

The gorge closes for the season on Oct. 25. Pets are not permitted.
