The River Show

The Long River “River Show” celebrates the power and majesty, beauty and grace of rivers — the Connecticut and others — as our most cherished of natural resources. Many other Long River artists have also contributed to this show by replacing their current works with pieces depicting river scenes, from the abstract to the representational. This show will be up through September 15th. On September 12th, we’ll hold an all day River Show Open House where all our friends are welcome to join us between 10 AM and 6 PM for cheese, crackers, and the friendship and community goodwill that only art can engender. This is local and regional art at its very best! Please do join us during August, and again in September as we feature rivers in all their might, glory and grace here at Long River. Did you know that our name, Long River, is derived from the Abenaki word “Connecticut?” It means "beside the shores of the long tidal river!" Just follow the river to Lyme and you’ll find us on Main Street, just behind Mascoma Bank and our bright yellow front door. Look for our sign and Open flag by the road, and some "Amazing Roots" sculptures on our outdoor patio.
