On July 10th, Sable Alumni Kiribumba will perform at Sable's Food & Art Friday!

Kiribumba is a Colombian dance theater collaborative, based in Queens, NY. Their work reimagines and celebrates Afrolatin American, Indigenous, and queer folklore. Their work is largely influenced by their commitment to liberation movements and the practice of joy as an act of resistance. They will be sharing a new work entitled "Maskarah" which incorporates masks, clowning, comedy, and satire to process acts of state sanctioned violence.

PLUS! From 5:30pm - 7pm, all are welcome to participate in a BUTTERFLY PUPPET ART BUILD in collaboration with Migrant Justice! Come make Monarch Butterfly Puppets to be used at future Migrant Justice actions! No experience required, all ages welcome. The monarch butterfly serves as a reminder of the natural beauty of migration, and the resilience of our immigrant neighbors.

With Wood-fired Pizza from Fat Dragon Farm and works-in-progress from Sable's Resident Artists all throughout the land.

$5-25 Suggested Donation

A portion of the proceeds at this event will be donated to Migrant Justice, a local organization that builds the voice, capacity, and power of the immigrant farmworker community.
