Cirque Series
The 8.2-mile course kicks off at the base of the K-1 Gondola. With about 3,000 feet of elevation gain, you’ll end up summiting two of Killington Resort’s six peaks and pass by two more before the end of your run. You’ll start off towards Snowdon Peak, snaking up rugged work roads before embarking on a steep climb to the first peak of the day at 1.2 miles in. After circling the top of Snowdon, you’ll head towards Killington’s North Ridge area, first along more service roads before another steep climb up the aptly named Ridge Run. You'll then start heading up the Peak Walkway, a trek familiar to many early-season Killington skiers and riders, before turning onto Catwalk for the last grueling uphill section before the first aid station. Finally, you'll reach Killington Peak, the highest point in the race at 4,241', where you’ll be surrounded by stunning panoramic views of the Green Mountains. Catch your breath before beginning your nearly 2.5-mile descent, first zooming past Skye Peak along Killington's South Ridge area to the adjoining Bear Mountain. A trip down Bear Cub past the Bear Mountain Lodge will lead to a long, steady trip up Bearly towards the Northbrook area. Approaching the 7-mile mark, you'll endure your last sharp ascent up Needles Eye before catching a glimpse of the Killington Bike Park near the top of Snowshed. Finally, you'll take the High Road before descending one more time past the base of Superstar and finishing out the race right where you started.
