Mamadou Diabate is an international award-winning balafon player from Burkina Faso who has toured the world with his ensemble, Mamadou Diabate & Percussion Mania, and an adjunct professor at Dartmouth College. This workshop and presentation will introduce West African Polyrhythms through the balafon, a traditional African wooden xylophone, and other percussion instruments including tension drums, barrel drums, cowbells, and shakers.
