Drawing from Nature Class: Fall Foliage
Franklin Roosevelt once said, “Forests are the lungs of our land”, and in this workshop, we will honor the work of trees. For the first hour, before VINS opens to the public, we will spend time exploring the wooded trails and the canopy walk soaking in inspiration. We’ll zoom in on single trees and zoom out for landscape views. Back in the classroom, we will guide you on a little color theory, mixing watercolors to achieve realistic fall colors, adding pen accents, and offering tips on composition that will enhance your field journals. Our goal is to help you depict your experiences with the forest and trees in your field journal in a way that is fulfilling to you. Drawing, sketching, and watercolor experience are not necessary, all skill levels welcome.
