Recently moved to Etna from Germany, Joerg (George) Matschullat and Sophie von Fromm, will speak about knowns and unknows in the Amazon basin. ​

Since 2021, Joerg and Sophie have been working on lakes in the Amazon region on experiments of importance for global warming - looking into whether flooded lake basins act as carbon reservoirs or sources.
