Upper Valley Chamber Orchestra Concert

This orchestra, affiliated with the Upper Valley Music Center, features musicians from throughout the Upper Valley, from Windsor to Hillsborough, Meriden to Montpelier. After the retirement of long-time conductor David Wysocki, Mark Nelson has taken over as interim conductor, bringing new energy and a fresh approach to the ensemble.

This spring’s concert opens with Bach’s Cantata No. 51, “Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen,” featuring guest Chiho Kaneko singing soprano and Sharon Phelps and Sierra Winand, members of the orchestra, doubling the oboe solo. Kaneko is a local artist, architect, and translator who has made quite a splash musically despite starting her voice training relatively late as an adult.
