Where To Give Back Locally This Holiday Season

Nov 05, 2026 08:41AM ● By Elise Renaud

As the holiday season approaches, you may be wondering how you can give back and help those in need as a way to spread the cheer. Here are a few ways to do just that:

Toy Drive

Holiday cheer for little ones means a new toy to unwrap. Toys for Tots is an organization that is working to ensure every child has a toy this holiday season. You can donate a toy, give monetarily, or request a toy for a child. Learn more on the Lebanon, NH, Toys for Tot’s website.

Donate To A Charity

Giving back to a charity that you appreciate the work they’re doing or one that you’re already volunteering with is a great way to easily give back this season.

Volunteer

Whether you want to volunteer solo or with a group, places like Upper Valley Haven, Good Beginnings, Upper Valley Habitat for Humanity, and The Maynard House are always looking for volunteers. Make sure to ask about age limits for volunteers if you’re bringing a little one.

Coat Drive

As the weather gets colder, a few places collect gently or new coats and winter accessories to help keep everyone warm this winter. The New Hampshire United Way is one of those places. With drop off locations throughout the state, you’re never too far from a place to give.

“We are accepting coats for all ages (children and adults). To ensure every recipient receives outerwear ready to wear immediately, we kindly ask that donations are either brand new or gently used,” the website said.
