We are at the beginning of the end of summer, and if you’re looking to soak up some fun before returning to school, look no further than a fair. There are several happening over the next few weeks. Here are some to mark on your calendar.

League of Craftsmanship

The League of Craftsmanship is happening Aug. 1 through 9 at the Mount Sunapee Resort from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. 

Guests can “engage with hundreds of local artists, watch fine craft being made, and enjoy live music and specialty food at the iconic arts event,” the program said.

Tickets for one day will be sold at the gate for $20, but purchasing online price is $18. A two day online ticket is $28 and $30 at the gate. Kids 16 and under are free. Learn more here.

Norwich Fair

The Norwich Lions Club is holding the Norwich Fair Aug. 13 through 16 on the grounds of the Marion Cross School.

The fair features a midway with games, rides for young and old, and a variety of participatory fund-raising events including a daily dunk tank and a silent auction that will be held on line in October.

Vermont State Fair

The 180th Vermont State Fair is happening Aug. 18-22 in Rutland. Each day features a variety of activities including a blacksmith shop, touch a truck, a butterfly enclosure, bingo, demonstrations, pony rides, and more. Learn more here.

The Annual Cornish Fair

The 76th Annual Cornish Fair is happening Aug. 21 through 23 at the fairgrounds. Fairgoers can enjoy fruits and vegetable exhibits, horse and oxen pulling, 4-H, crafts, children’s activities, live entertainment, vendors, amusement rides, and more. View this year’s daily schedule here.

Apple Pie Crafts Fair

The 47th Annual Apple Pie Crafts Fair in Newport, NH, is happening on Aug. 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“Every year, more than 5,000 New Englanders make their way to Newport from all around the state of New Hampshire and New England to enjoy 130+ booths of handmade crafts, including pottery, woodworking, glass, fiber arts and more. The fair also features live music, food vendors and the famous apple pie contest & sale,” the Library Arts Center Gallery & Studio’s website said.
