If you’re looking to entertain or just unwind after a long day or week, a drink (whether alcoholic or not) may be in order. Not sure what to make? Here are some recipes from AllRecipes.
COCKTAILS
Ingredients:
1 (750 milliliters) bottle rye whiskey
1 cup sweet vermouth (such as Cocchi Vermouth de Torino®)
1 teaspoon Angostura bitters
maraschino cherries, for garnish
Directions:
Pour out about 1 cup whiskey from bottle to make room for remaining ingredients (reserve for another use). Using a funnel, add sweet vermouth and bitters. Seal bottle tightly, and gently invert several times to combine.
Transfer bottle to freezer; chill until very cold, at least 2 hours.
To serve, pour mixture into chilled coupe glasses. Garnish with cherries.
Ingredients:
ice
1 1/2 ounces gin
1 ounces applejack or apple brandy
1/2 ounce Lillet Blanc
dash of orange bitters
1 very thin unpeeled crosswise slice from a small apple
Directions:
Fill a mixing glass half-full with ice. Add gin, applejack, Lillet Blanc, and orange bitters.
Stir until well chilled.
Strain into a cocktail glass; top with apple slice.
MOCKTAILS
Non-Alcoholic Summertime Spritz
Ingredients:
1 twist lemon peel
5 mint leaves, or more to taste
1 ounce elderflower syrup (I used Belvoir® brand, but Bottlegreen® or homemade is also good!)
2 ounces tonic water
3 ounces club soda
ice, as needed
1 sprig mint, for garnish
Directions:
In a glass, muddle lemon peel, mint leaves, and a drop of syrup together. Pour over remaining syrup, tonic water, and club soda. Stir gently to combine.
Fill a glass with ice and pour elderflower spritz over it. Garnish with a mint sprig.
Ingredients:
5 fresh basil leaves
1 tablespoon agave syrup or honey
1 fluid ounce fresh lime juice
3 fluid ounces pomegranate juice
4 fluid ounces club soda
ice cubes, as needed
1 lime wedge
Directions:
In a shaker, add basil leaves with lime juice and agave syrup and mash with a cocktail muddler. Add pomegranate juice to the shaker and shake well.
Fill a glass with ice cubes and strain shaker contents into the glass. Top with club soda and garnish with lime wedge.
