Before you stuff yourself on Thanksgiving, get some steps in to counteract the feast by joining a Turkey Trot. There are several in the area to register for:

City of Hanover annual 5K and 10K Turkey Trot

The Sunday before Thanksgiving, Nov. 23, the city of Hanover, NH, is holding its annual 5K and 10K Turkey Trot races starting at noon. 

“Our 2025 10K race course is USATF certified and is also the final race in the Upper Valley Running Club Race Series. While we welcome walkers in the 5K race, we ask please no walking-only racers in the 10K Turkey Trot,” the website said.

Norwich, Vermont, Turkey Trot

On Thanksgiving, Norwich, VT, is holding its 17th annual Turkey Trot. It starts at 9 a.m. at the Gazebo on the Norwich Green. No registration is required. Learn more here.

Zack’s Place Turkey Trot 5K

Zack’s Place in Woodstock, VT, is holding its Turkey Trot 5K on Thanksgiving. Runners must be in place by 10 a.m.

“Walk/Run begins and ends at Woodstock Elementary School. Awards ceremony immediately following on The Green,” the website said.
