Summer is here, which means after a long day in the heat, ice cream will be calling your name. If you’re looking to shop local, there are several ice cream shops in the Upper Valley to try.

For U Ice Cream

In West Lebanon, NH, Ice Cream Fore-U offers delicious flurries, ice cream sundaes, shakes, banana boats, and more. The shop is located at the Fore U Golf Center and is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

The Scoop

With two locations in Woodstock, VT, and Hanover, NH, The Scoop offers seasonal and traditional ice cream with hard serve coming from Mountain Creamery and Wilcox, and Vermont Maple Creemee soft serve made with real maple syrup from Bourdon Maple Farm. Learn more and view hours here.

Red Kite Candy

In Hanover, NH, Red Kite Candy offers ice cream in store and for pickup, along with fun candies, cake, and more to try. The store is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Learn more and place a pickup order here.

Mac's Maple

Try something unique and Upper Valley-made at Mac's Maple in Plainfield, NH. Enjoy sundaes, milkshakes, and Creamees in Maple, Vanilla, or twisted together. 

“Have them with maple candy sprinkles, rainbow sprinkles, regular cones, or our homemade waffle cones,” the website said.

The store is open Tuesday from 8 a.m. to noon and Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Learn more about the farm here.

White Cottage Snack Bar

In Woodstock, VT, the White Cottage Snack Bar offers cones and soft serve, frozen yogurt, banana splits, shakes, root beer floats, and more. It is open from the first Friday in May until Columbus Day. It opens at 11 a.m. daily.
