Where To Picnic This Summer In The Upper Valley

Jun 24, 2025 09:40AM ● By Elise Renaud

If you’re looking to add a classic summer activity to your 2025 Summer Bucket List, look no further than a picnic with friends, your significant other, or a book. Here are some places to consider:

The Park

The classic picnic location is a park. There are many to choose from, like Erwin Clifford Park, Moody Park, and Kilowatt Park. Many parks also include a playground for the kids to burn off some energy.

By A Lake

Enjoy a peaceful meal by the water at a lake or pond in the area, like Silver Lake, Lake Sunapee, and Boston Lot Lake, and along the Connecticut River.

Community Green

For a more maintained greenspace, try the Dartmouth Green, the Lebanon Green, or “The Green” in Woodstock.

Your backyard

If you don’t want to go anywhere or want the convenience of being able to run back into the kitchen, set up a blanket in your backyard, turn on some tunes, and create your own little escape.
