Deals and Events Happening on Veterans Day

Monday is Veterans Day, and many people will be celebrating with parades, activities, and volunteering. Some businesses offer exclusive deals and discounts for our former servicemembers.

Here are some events going on to celebrate veterans and businesses that are having discounts or deals for veterans in the Upper Valley.


EVENTS:

Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony in Lebanon, NH

Lebanon is hosting a Veterans Day parade sponsored by the American Legion Guyer-Carignan Post 22 starting at 11 a.m. at the CCBA. It will end in Colburn Park. There will be a ceremony after in Colburn Park. 

Veterans Day Ceremony in White River Junction, VT

The White River Junction VA Medical Center is holding a ceremony to honor veterans starting at noon in the Freedom Building in room 103. The ceremony will feature music from the Lyme Town Band. Learn more here.


Veterans Day Parade in Milford, NH

Starting at 10:45 a.m., there will be a Veteran’s Day parade in Milford, NH. The parade will start at the American Legion on Cottage Street to the Milford Oval via Garden Street and Union Street, then onto the World War I, World War II and Korean War Memorials. It will end at the American Legion on Cottage Street.


Scouting Salute to Veterans Parade in Brandon, VT

The Green Mountain Council of Scouting America id holding its annual Scouting Salute ot Veterans parade on Nov. 9 in Brandon, VT. It starts at 10:30 a.m. It begins on Park Street and will head west to Central Park Road. Learn more here.


Discounts and Deals:

  • Free breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. for veterans at the American Legion Guyer/Cargnan Post 22 in Lebanon, NH. There will be a free luncheon after the Veterans Day parade at the American Legion Post (you must be 21 or older to attend). 
  • Upper Valley Aquatics Center is offering veterans a free day pass during the week of November 11 - 15. Learn more here.
  • Applebee’s offers veterans and active-duty military a special Veterans Day dine-in only meal. Learn more here.
  • Starbucks offers a free tall brewed coffee (hot or iced) for veterans, military servicemembers and military spouses at participating U.S. Starbucks stores and licensed locations. Learn more here.
  • Wendy’s offers active military and veterans a free small breakfast combo. Learn more here.
  • Sleep Number is offering all active, veteran, retired and reservist personnel of the US armed forces an additional 10% off. Learn more here.
