Registration is now open for the Puppies and Pooches on Parade happening at 10:30 a.m. on August 24 at the Woodstock Village Green.

There are multiple categories to enter based on weight and costumes. The registration fee is $30. Register here.

In addition to the parade, there will be a demonstration by a member of the Vermont State Police K-9 unit, a veterinarian from Kedron Valley Veterinary to answer questions about your dog’s health, and workers from the MacKenzie Humane Society to share information on adopting pets.

There will also be a $5 raffle with several prizes:

•  $500 CASH PRIZE from the Friends of the NWPL

• Dinner for 2 from the Red Rooster Tavern, Woodstock Inn

• 1-Night Stay with Breakfast from Stay at Jimmy's

• 1-Night Stay with Breakfast from The Village Inn of Woodstock

• 1-Hour Doggie Photo Shoot from Sally Carpenter, Fine Art Portrait Photographer

• 3 Course Dinner for 2 from 506 Bistro and Bar

• One-Week Doggie Day Care from Rose Hill Pet Services

The event is an annual fundraiser for the Friends of Norman Williams Public Library.
