In March, Andrew Crust began his tenure as music director for the Vermont Symphony Orchestra (VSO). Jaime Laredo, who had led VSO for 20 years, stepped down in 2021. Andrew comes with lots of experience and international success.

During his career, he has served as associate conductor of the Vancouver Symphony (2019–2022), the Memphis Symphony (2017–2019), and the National Youth Orchestra (2017 and 2018). He also has experience conducting opera, ballet, film, pops, and choral programs.

Although Andrew’s first concert as a director isn’t until September 30 at the Flynn in Burlington, you can join the VSO at the TD Bank Summer Festival Tour in South Pomfret this June for an American Swing concert.

Guest trumpeter and jazz legend Ray Vega will join the VSO and Argentinian/Italian conductor Michelle di Russo will lead the orchestra as they present a concert of swing and jazz. Pack a picnic and sit under the stars this summer or get up and dance to the rhythms of Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, George Gershwin, and more.

You can find out more details like time, location, and cost on the VSO website.
