On May 4, 2022, a new business opened in Georges Mills called Evelyn J's Fish Market. The idea for this family-owned business began in 2020 after the Fullerton family moved to the area and struggled to find quality seafood. After working in the seafood industry for almost their entire lives, the Fullertons decided that a fish market was needed in Georges Mills that would provide locals with the highest quality seafood. Frederick Fullerton shares, “Because of the family’s experience in the seafood industry, we have relationships with some of the top seafood venders in Boston. We pick up new product two to three times a week to make sure our customers are only getting the freshest quality.”

This past summer, the best-selling item was by far the swordfish. In addition, the smoked fish was a huge success, and they’ll try to carry it again this summer. Recently, the fish market has been selling out of cod. You can check out all the products, including fresh fish, shellfish, smoked fish, crabmeat, and prepared frozen foods, this winter. Evelyn J’s Fish Market is open Monday from 12 to 6 pm and Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm. In the summer, the hours will change to seven days a week from 10 am to 6 pm.

So the next time you’re near 1004 Lake Avenue in Georges Mills, pick up some scallops, steamers, oysters, salmon, haddock, arctic char, and more at Evelyn J’s Fish Market! Visit their Facebook page to stay up to date on all offerings.
