Jan 02, 2023 10:57AM ● By Stephanie Hatley
Tired of being cooped up over the holidays? Head out to the Lil' Stash on Saturday, January 7 for a family-friendly competition. Open to Grom skiers and riders 13 years and under, this fun competition is designed to help young skiers and riders get a feel for park riding. The Woodward Mountain Parks staff will help participants learn the rules and navigate of the park. From free giveaways to prizes and friendly competition, this event is all about having fun.

There are two divisions based on age: the Super Grom for first-time park riders 9 years and under and the Grom for 10-to-13-year-olds who have park riding experience. Both boys and girls will compete together. There’s a $20 entry fee, and all participants must have the Express Assumption of Risk form filled out by a parent or guardian.

On January 7, check-in will take place from 9 to 10 am on the third floor of the Ramshead Base Lodge. No one will be allowed to participate after 10 am. Practice will follow from 10 to 10:30 am with an athlete meeting at 10:30 am. Session #1—the Super Grom—will take place from 10:40 to 11:05 am. Session #2—the Grom—will follow from 11:15 to 11:40 am. Awards will be given out at 11:55 am at the announcer’s tent.

Children participating in the Mini Shred Madness event do not have to have a season pass/lift ticket in order to compete. Registration is available online but will max out at 100 competitors. So get your child registered today and head out to the Lil’ Stash for a fun morning of competition!
