Thanksgiving In the Upper Valley: Dine-in and Pick Up Options

As the holidays approach, so do the special meals that often accompany them. For many, the tradition of Thanksgiving dinner is a way to help celebrate family and share in our gratitude while indulging in some good food together. While some prefer to enjoy a home-cooked meal at home, there are several local options to skip the cooking this year and enjoy Thanksgiving dinner out on the town or order takeout Thanksgiving to enjoy from home.


Dine-In Options

PINE – Hanover

Pine in Hanover is offering Thanksgiving dinner dine-in and to-go options this year. Thanksgiving to-go orders must be placed by noon on November 18 for pickup on either November 23 or November 24, with reheating instructions included. Thanksgiving to-go costs $215 for six people, $425 for 12 people, or you can order a-la-carte and entree dishes to make your own Thanksgiving menu to suit you and your family. Order online. Reservations can also be made for in-person dining on Thanksgiving day here

 

Woodstock Inn & Resort – Woodstock

For guests of the Woodstock Inn & Resort, Thanksgiving dinner can be enjoyed anytime from 1 to 8pm on November 24. The Thanksgiving buffet costs $85 per person or $40 per child 12 and under. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (802) 457-6665. The buffet menu can be viewed here. 

 

Barnard Inn – Barnard

Dine in for Thanksgiving at the Barnard Inn with a fine-dining reservation for two or more. The fine-dining menu is prix-fixe and uses local seasonal ingredients. Chefs at the Barnard Inn are accommodating to food allergies and dietary restrictions such as gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, and pescetarian—just let the chef know when making your reservation online. 

 

Pick-Up/To-Go Options

Carpenter & Main – Norwich

This year, Carpenter & Main restaurant in Norwich is offering a to-go Thanksgiving dinner menu, and ordering starts now! From roast turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes, and gravy to sweet pumpkin pie and gingerbread, Carpenter & Main is sure to satisfy your tastebuds for tradition. Order by Monday, November 14, for pickup on Wednesday, November 23, between noon and 5 pm. Call (802) 649-2922 to order or for more information. Dinners start at $54 per person, and desserts incur an additional a-la-carte charge. 

 

Woodstock Farmers’ Market – Woodstock

The Woodstock Farmers’ Market is offering Thanksgiving dinner to-go this year with a full menu of delicious Thanksgiving favorites, including Vermont-raised turkeys, starters, sides, and desserts! By ordering online, you choose where your turkey comes from (a variety of farm-fresh options are available), and you pick what other dishes you want your Thanksgiving meal to include. Some delicious options to choose from include cranberry relish, crab artichoke dip, turkey gravy, old-fashioned mashed potatoes, winter squash puree, baked brie, stuffing, and a whole selection of pies (apple, pumpkin, pecan, chocolate cream, maple blueberry, and more). Co-op Food Stores – Upper Valley, Vermont & New Hampshire 

For those who are cooking at home this year, you can order a local turkey from the Upper Valley Co-op Food Stores to pick up during the week of Thanksgiving. Fresh whole Vermont turkeys from Misty Knoll and Stonewood Farm are available to order online until 9 pm on November 18. You can also order from their Thanksgiving Menu for Co-op chef-prepared mains, sides, and desserts. Order by November 5 for in-store pickup on either November 22 or 23.
