Oct 04, 2022 01:11PM ● By Rose Terami
There are plenty of ways to celebrate the changing of seasons in the Upper Valley, and one such event is coming up next week in Woodstock, Vermont.

The Apples & Crafts Fair and Food Truck Festival has been hosted annually in Woodstock for 50 years! This festival celebrates the season by bringing friends and neighbors together to enjoy handcrafted local artisan goods, food, and all things fall.

We’ve asked Gail Devine, the executive director at Woodstock Recreation Center, to give us the rundown on the upcoming Apples & Crafts Fair and Food Truck Festival so you have everything you need to know in one place before the big event.

Q: Why was the tradition of Apples & Crafts started?

A: This was before my time since this is in its 50th year. I am sure it was a fundraising idea since we are a nonprofit organization.

Q: What is the Apples & Crafts Fair and Food Truck Festival?

A: The Apples & Crafts Fair and Food Truck Festival features a vast selection of juried crafts, art, jewelry, specialty foods, and several food trucks amidst a spectacular fall setting.

Q: When is the festival this year?

A: October 8 and 9.

Q: Where is the festival located?

A: Bailey’s Meadow on Route 4 in Woodstock on the east end of town.

Q: What is the schedule for this year's event?

A: Saturday 10 am to 4 pm and Sunday 10 am to 3 pm.

Q: How much does it cost to attend, and how can people purchase tickets?

A: You pay $5 for adults at the gate. Children are free. All proceeds benefit the Woodstock Recreation Center.

Q: What food trucks can people expect to see this year?

A: Here is a sampling: Mediterranean, tacos, grilled cheese, and tomato soup, homemade warm donuts, kettle corn, homemade pretzels, and more!

Q: What other vendors will be there?

A: We have more than 80 other vendors with art, jewelry, clothing, food, soap, candles, pottery, and so much more!

Q: Is there anything people who are interested in attending should know?

A: This is a rain or shine event. We have covered seating for food, and several vendors are under our big tents with walkways.
