What is CSA, you might ask? It stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It is a way for local farmers to share their crops with local consumers. By subscribing to a CSA share from a local farm, you contribute to the local economy in a positive way and support your farmers in the community, all while enjoying fresh produce straight from the source

With the winter season coming to an end and warmer weather on the horizon, it’s a good time to start thinking about summer meal planning! The growing season in the Upper Valley is just around the corner and is a wonderful opportunity to incorporate fresh, local produce into your daily meals at home. Here are two local farms that offer CSA produce shares to sign up for this Spring and another to consider for next season.

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION: Sunrise Organic Farm LLC

• Located at 1759 North Hartland Rd. White River Junction, VT
• “Summer CSA” share

• 25 weeks from May-October
• Pickups on either Mondays or Thursdays
• Half-share = $425, full share = $745

• “Winter CSA” share

• November through December
• Pickup twice a week for two months
• $195 for the whole share

NORWICH: Sweetland Farm

• CSA season runs from Mid-May to November 1 (24 weeks of shares), with winter shares available ($38 a week for 8 weeks)
• Offers three sizes of shares to meet your needs
• All shares have access to the pick-your-own garden from June to October.
• On-farm pick up Tuesdays or Fridays (1-6 pm) or Saturdays (10-1 pm)
• Fruit CSA share is available in addition to veggie share ($14 a week for 14 weeks)
• “Veggie Monster” (largest share, approximately 2 bags of produce per pickup) = $53 a week
• “Brimming Basket” (medium share, approximately one brimming bag of produce per pickup, feeds a family of four) = $38 a week
• “Half-pint” (small share, ½-2/3 full shopping bag of produce per pickup) = $29 a week

ETNA: Mink Meadow Farm

 (2022 season is full but pre-enrollment for the 2023 season coming soon)

• Offers a fully customizable CSA farm share program.
• Weekly pickup of certified organic produce at their farm stand located in the barn at the corner of Etna & Ruddsboro Road Etna, NH 03750
• Offers small, regular, and large size customizable shares
• Small share = $104 per month
• Medium share = $152 per month
• Large share = $204 per month
