It's been a tough year for many, and if there's anything we all need this year is a little holiday cheer. So with that said, it's about to be the most magical time of year. If you're already chomping at the bit to bring the ever so important tree into your home, we've got you covered.

Here are five places to find the perfect tree for your home and possibly even cut down your own (if you're into that.)

Situated just outside Enfield, NH will be celebrating its second year of tree sales this year. Two and one-half miles of trails across its 50 acres provides a perfect opportunity to cut and purchase a Christmas tree. Opening safely on Thanksgiving weekend, customers have plenty of wild trees across the farm to cut. These include Balsam Fir, White and Red Spruces, and Eastern White Pine. Prices run from $2/foot for 1-6 feet to $5/foot for 15 feet and larger. No time to cut your own tree or can’t find the perfect managed tree? The farm offers some pre-cut Balsam Fir trees on site ready to bale and load on your car. Each is a premium quality, 7-8 feet, for $56. Customers may purchase wreaths, tree stands, ornaments, pet scarves, and more to help create the perfect Christmas. Contact www.andersonhilltreefarm.com or 603.965.2535. Open dates are November 27-29, December 5-6, December 12-13, and December 19-20.

Customers can cut their own, purchase a pre-cut or wholesale tree. Owned and operated by the Ahern family, who have been farming the property since 1897, Glove Hollow has over 75,000 trees on 435 acres. All its choose-and-cut trees are one price in the fields. The tallest and best trees go first, so prices are reduced over the season. During pre-season from November 21-22, trees are $65 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. During the regular season, from November 27-December 20, trees are priced at $51. And during the late season, from December 21-24, trees are $45. Glove Hollow provides saws, baling twine, sleds, netting, drilling of trunks in addition to acceptance of major credit cards. The farm opens the day after Thanksgiving and closes December 24. For more information, contact www.glovehollow.com or 603.520.9096.

Located in Meriden, NH is a family-owned country farm with three fields or nearly four acres of Fraser Firs and Balsams. Despite the pandemic, the farm owners hope interested individuals will join them for an old-fashioned Christmas, tramping the rolling fields to choose their own tree. Each year, there are 400-600 Balsam, Fraser Fir, or Canaan seedlings planted. Trees range from table-top size to 8-9 feet tall, although most are in the 7-foot range. They are slender, ample, airy, dense, wide, narrow, short, and tall. Each is unique. The farm provides saws and twine. It is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, beginning the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend (November 28). For prices and more information, contact www.nodafarm.com or 603.510.0033.

Located in Plainfield, NH is also a choose and cut Christmas tree farm open weekends Thanksgiving-Christmas. Its open field and socially distant structure should create an enjoyable environment for your family to share the holiday spirit. The farm will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the opening day the Friday after Thanksgiving. Following COVID-19 guidelines, the farm will require masks, social distancing, and a sanitizing station. Saws are available, and dogs are discouraged unless well behaved and leashed. In an effort to minimize contact this year, farm staff is asking customers to secure their trees to their own vehicles. Due to the lack of reliable cell service for electronic payment, the farm will remain a cash and check business only. Choose and cut trees are $50 for any tree in the field. Precut trees start at $30 and up. For further information, contact Hidden Field Fir Farm on Facebook or 603.675.2007.
