“What began as a drive-thru café operating out of a food trailer has evolved into a wholesale bagel business,” the company’s website says. “Alden trained as a bagel baker in the Seacoast area of New Hampshire as he was attending [the University of New Hampshire].”
Since 2013, Alden and Sarah have made every bagel by hand, omitting dough conditioners and preservatives as a part of their process, and baking and delivering from their home, seven days a week.
“It was a desire of ours to work and build a business together, we are grateful for the positive response we have received and look forward to where the future takes us,” the website continues.
They sell a variety of bagels to be enjoyed at six local stores and four restaurants, including the Dartmouth College dining center, the Valley News reported. Flavors include plain, everything, sesame, poppy, onion, garlic, salted, pumpernickel, whole wheat, and cinnamon raisin. Goose & Willie’s uses King Arthur Sir Lancelot Flour.
Goose & Willie’s bagels can be found at Co-op Food Stores in Hanover and Lebanon, Hannaford’s Bradford location, Dan & Whits Country Store, The Lyme Country Store, and Chapman’s Country Store. If you are interested in having bagels for an event or need a special order, the Co-op Food Stores, Hannaford, Lyme Country Store, Chapman's and Lou's Restaurant can assist you with special orders.
The bagels are available at dining establishments, as well, and can be found at the Hanover Inn, Lou’s Restaurant, the Fairlee Diner, and Byrne Hall (Tuck School – Dartmouth College Dining).
