Jan 10, 2019 02:22PM ● By Kevin
The Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce  is offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore Beijing, Suzhou, Shanghai, and Hangzhou. The chamber partners with Citslinc International Inc. to provide this nine-day, all-inclusive, fully escorted tour, which will take place from Oct. 15 to 23, 2019.

People who are interested can attend China Trip Orientation Workshop on Wednesday, Jan. 23, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Hanover Inn. Travelers will meet the Citslinc representatives and have questions answered as well as see a preview of the sites to be visited. The orientation is free and light refreshments will be served.

Citslinc is one of the largest providers of foreign tours to China and works exclusively with more than 1,000 chambers of commerce in Canada and the U.S. The company has 33 years of experience in the China tour business.

The itinerary is packed with sights and activities that will give you a full and rewarding experience, including Tiananmen Square, Temple of Heaven, The Great Wall, Forbidden City, Ming Tombs, historic temples, luxury gardens, Emperor’s Summer Palace, impressive Chinese architecture, the Bund (Shanghai’s famous waterfront) and much more. Several cultural shows and culinary experiences are available as well as many shopping opportunities for jade, pearls, art, clothing, and silk.

“China is a modern country, so you need not to feel as though you are preparing to travel back in time, to a less sophisticated society,” the chamber’s registration form says. “In many instances, the country is not ‘behind’ so much as ‘different.’

“For example, you will find very few ATM machines, but travelers’ checks and credit cards are accepted everywhere, so leave your checkbooks and check cards behind. The electricity in China is 220 volts and an adapter is required to operate even an American hair dryer. Both the adapter and the hair dryer are available at the hotels in which we will be staying, but it is recommended that you bring your own adapter if you will need to plug anything in. Though you will be treated to sumptuous regional foods, you will also find many American fast-food chains including McDonald's, KFC and Starbucks.”

The trip totals $2,499 per person, which includes round trip airport shuttle to/from Hanover, round trip international airfare deluxe in-country ground transportation and local airfare between cities, 4- and 5-star hotel accommodations, three meals per day, all tour fees, all taxes, and airport fees and an experienced English-speaking tour guides. The price is based on two-person shared accommodation. Single occupancy is available for an extra charge of $500. A non-refundable, $400 deposit is required to guarantee reservation. The trip must be paid in full by July 1.

Securing or updating a passport is the responsibility of the traveler. Passports must be valid 6 months past travel date. Travelers will need to provide their passport, signed visa application form, one passport photos, and the visa application fee to Chinese Consulate visa application center.

The Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to invigorate the economic health of the areas we serve while contributing to the well-being of the Upper Valley. It is located in the heart of Hanover at 53 South Main St.
