Meet the New Owner of Molly’s and Jesse’s In Hanover

Feb 26, 2018 10:02PM ● By Linda Ditch
Since January 2nd, ownership of the popular Molly’s and Jesse’s restaurants has been in the hands of Director of Operations Anthony Barnett and his wife Erin. Long-time owners Marc and Patty Milowsky decided to retire after nearly five decades in the restaurant business.

Anthony Barnett took time from his busy schedule to answer a few questions about his change from manager to owner:

Q: How has ownership been so far?

A: The past couple of months have been wonderful! Our team members have been extremely supportive, and we’ve received many encouraging comments from people in our community. We have a close relationship with Marc and Patty Milowsky, who were the previous owners and are now our landlords. They’ve gone out of their way to be helpful with the transition. There have been a few unexpected challenges, but overall, we’re very happy with how things are going.

Q: What are some of the differences between being the owner and the director of operations?

A: The biggest difference between ownership and management is the level of responsibility. As director of operations, I made plenty of decisions for our guests and team members. However, there were some big decisions that were ultimately made by the owners. As we move forward, I’m making those decisions, and there’s a weight to knowing that my decisions could negatively impact the success of the businesses, guests, and our team. I’ve noticed that I’m a bit more thoughtful than I was just a few months ago. Fortunately, our entire management team is unchanged. We have an incredible group of people contributing to the continued success of our restaurants.

Q: What are some of the differences between the two restaurants?

A: Marc and Patty created two very special restaurants. Both have well-defined concepts and loyal patrons. Over the past few years, we’ve made many of the changes that I suggested, and I’m happy with our operation. There will be minor adjustments. We’re always striving to improve and keep things fresh for our guests, but overall things will stay the same.

Q: Do you have any changes in mind for the two restaurants?

A: We’re truly grateful that the community has been so welcoming. The support and encouragement that we’ve received from our Upper Valley friends and neighbors have been remarkable. We want people to know that the Blue Sky family will honor all previously purchased gift cards and that we look forward to seeing them at Molly’s and Jesse’s.
