Apr 14, 2024 11:37AM ● By Elise Renaud
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation has been awarded nearly $2.8 million in federal funding for the state’s phase 1 National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program, the state’s department of transportation announced.

This is in conjunction with the state’s Plan for Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Deployment, which will provide about $17.2 million to the state over five years. NHDOT said that the money will help add half a million new charging stations along major travel routes throughout the country, including in New Hampshire.

Phase 1 will include adding EV charging stations along the major travel corridors of I-93 and NH 16.

“The State’s vision is to strategically deploy an interconnected and equitable network of public electric vehicle charging infrastructure to encourage electric vehicle travel, maintain economic competitiveness, and stimulate public-private sector collaboration in the State of New Hampshire,” NHDOT said in a press release.
