5 Concerts Venues To Check Out This Summer

If you’re looking for some summer entertainment, there are plenty of local venues offering a lineup of events to check out this season! We’ve pulled together a list of a few venues in the area offering concerts this summer. Many of these events are offered for free or low cost, and most of them are held outdoors.

 

Pentangle Arts – Woodstock, Vermont

Chances are you’ve probably seen a movie or two on the big screen at Pentangle Arts, but did you know they host a variety of other events, including summer concerts? Located at the Woodstock Town Hall Theatre (31 The Green), Pentangle Arts does a lot more than pop popcorn.

This summer you can look forward to a few different offerings, including classical music performances and an outdoor concert series, Music by the River, on Fridays at 6pm starting July 7 and running through August 25. Music by the River events are free and open to all and will be held at East End Park in Woodstock (217 Maxham Meadow Way).

In addition, Pentangle Arts is also hosting the TD Bank Vermont Symphony Orchestra Summer Tour at Saskadena Six (247 Stage Road, South Pomfret) on Friday, June 30 from 7:30 to 9:30pm. The festival features a lineup of American favorites by musicians like Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Johnny Mandel, and more. Advance tickets cost $28 (day-of tickets are $35), ages 6 to 18 are $5, and children 5 and under attend free.

 

Lebanon Opera House – Lebanon, New Hampshire

This beloved performing arts venue has quite the lineup to look forward to this summer. Located in downtown Lebanon at 51 North Park Street, Lebanon Opera House’s upcoming summer offerings include LOL@LOH (a comedy show with Ali Siddiq on June 4 at 6pm); Hootenanny (a free day of concerts on June 10 at River Park in West Lebanon celebrating good music and the outdoors); and Arrival From Sweden: The Music of ABBA (an ABBA tribute act on August 8 at 7:30pm, with tickets ranging from $35 to $55). Besides their usual programming, the Lebanon Opera House is hosting the free NEXUS Music and Arts Festival from August 11 to 13. The three-day festival will feature all genres of music, from R&B and folk to jazz and funk.

Also at Colburn Park, the Lebanon Recreation, Arts, and Parks department is hosting Monday night concerts and a Front Porch Concert Series at 7pm on Thursday nights.

 

Lake Morey Resort – Fairlee, Vermont

Lake Morey Resort is offering a free summer concert series on Thursday nights, hosted outdoors and open to the community. A few concerts to look forward to are folk/rock/soul/pop blend Adam Ezra Group on July 7, rock-and-soul band Uprooted on July 20, and rock/blues band Big Head Todd and the Monsters on August 24. Check each performance for specific information on location. For all shows, gates open at 7:15pm and shows start at 8pm.

 

Opera North – Blow-Me-Down Farm, Cornish, New Hampshire

The Upper Valley’s Opera North is preparing for Summerfest 2023, which features a few different performances throughout the summer, including circus-opera mashup Cavalcade (July 7 to 9); Carmen (July 16, 19, 21); Carousel (July 27 to 30); Disco Inferno: A ’70s Celebration (July 15 at 7pm, tickets range from $15 to $35); and Jazz on a Sunday Afternoon (August 6, 4pm). All Summerfest 2023 events will be held at Blow-Me-Down Farm in Cornish, New Hampshire (364 NH-12A).

 

Lyman Point Park – Hartford, Vermont

This summer, the town of Hartford is hosting a summer concert series at Lyman Point Park (167 Maple Street, White River Junction). Concerts are free and open to the public, and will be on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8pm. The seven-concert lineup includes performances representing a variety of genres, such as swing era/oldies, classic rock, blues, and country.
