Fun Facts About the Red Barn at Farmhouse Inn
The Milstones have about 30 chickens and a horse named Yuma living on the first floor of the barn.
At 68 feet, the barn is said to be the tallest bank barn in Vermont.
The scale in the high drive, used to weigh the hay when it was brought in, is still embedded in the floor, and it still works.
Even at full capacity, the weight of people, plates, cups, glasses, knives, forks, food, drink, and musical instruments is less than the weight of a barnful of cows, hay, and milk.
The barn is on the Vermont State Register of Historic Places.
